Black Rice

De-husked, and not milled, black rice maintains its natural colouring and rich nutritional content. Considered the healthiest type of rice, black rice contains ample fibre and powerful antioxidants; it is also packed with vitamins, especially vitamin E. Its healthful attributes include stabilising blood sugar, slowing the effects of aging, reducing the risk of colon cancer, lowering cholesterol and fighting heart disease.

Red Rice and Brown Rice

Red rice and brown rice maintain a layer of skin that surrounds the grain; this layer contains high levels of nutrients and fibre that are beneficial for health. With a low glycemic index, red and brown rice also helps to regulate blood sugar levels and lower cholesterol. Ideal for those who are gluten intolerant, the rice also contain vitamins, including vitamin B6; antioxidants; iron and zinc.

White Rice

White rice has undergone the process of milling, with simply the white grain remaining. Jasmine rice in particular registers as a good source of niacin, thiamine, iron and selenium, providing between 10 to 20 percent of the recommended daily requirement. It also contains vitamins B1 and D.
